Keeping families close

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), the charity of choice of McDonald’s Philippines, is a global organization on a mission to make a difference in the lives of Filipino children through programs that support their need for shelter, education, and happiness. Since the local chapter in the Philippines began its operation in 1995, RMHC has raised over 208 million pesos and has helped over 11.8 million children all over the country.

RMHC currently has two flagship programs which focus on different but equally essential aspects of a child’s development: Ronald McDonald Read to Learn, a beginning reading program for grades 1 and 2 pupils, and Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit, which strives to build day care centers in areas where they are most needed.

RMHC has also helped disaster-affected families during natural calamities through its Ronald McDonald Bigay Tulong Program.  Aside from giving food and drinks, McDonald’s activates its stores as drop off centers for in-kind donations during disaster relief operations.

The organization regularly holds fundraising events such as golf tournaments, and celebrates the annual McHappy Day through the Stripes Run, in order to raise awareness and support for children-related causes.

With your support, RMHC will be able to brighten the future of more children as it expands its programs to more areas in the Philippines.

The red and white Bahay Bulilit houses are daycare centers for children of low-income families.

Children two to five years old can jumpstart their reading journey in a safe and learning-conducive environment through Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit. In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and local government units, RMHC builds learning centers in communities where they are most needed.

Ronald McDonald Read to Learn is a beginning reading program in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd). It provides reading materials to grade 1 and 2 multigrade school pupils and conducts training for educators on teaching beginning reading.

Ronald McDonald Bigay Tulong program helps thousands of disaster-affected families by providing immediate assistance. Launched in 2007, RMHC uses McDonald’s restaurants nationwide as a venue where Filipinos can conveniently drop off their in-kind donations. All donations collected are turned over to partner organizations such as the Philippine National Red Cross and DSWD.
