Ronald McDonald Bigay Tulong
"A helping hand in times of need"
With the numerous natural calamities that hit the country every year, RMHC started a disaster and relief program called Ronald McDonald Bigay Tulong. Launched in 2007, Ronald McDonald Bigay Tulong has helped thousands of disaster-affected families. For this program, RMHC uses McDonald’s stores nationwide as venues where the public can easily drop off their cash or goods donations. RMHC then collects all donations and turns it over to partner organizations such as the Philippine National Red Cross, DSWD and other non-profit organizations.
Its biggest operation happened during Typhoon Yolanda where the country was unprepared for the devastation it caused. For the first time, RMHC activated the first Bigay Tulong Command Center as its central hub of disaster relief operations. Help was extended to close to 100,000 families in Tacloban, Roxas, Cebu, Iloilo and Samar.
